I finally decided on a logo for the website I'm making for the Kukes Region. The pattern was inspired from a traditional Northern Albanian quilt that I found a picture of. The 5 colors represent the 5 major cities/towns in the Kukes Region: Bajram Curri, Kukes, Shistavec, Valbona Valley and Lake Koman. These colors are carried over to the individual pages in the site, separating them by color but keeping them unified by the overall logo.
We're still shooting for the end of September to launch the site, by using Google Sites we have to do every page individually because it does not support HTML or CSS. Google Sites was chosen because it will be easy to sustain afterwards by workers in the Bashkia and it is very inexpensive to host.

The main target audience for the website is foreign tourist, although there will be an option to translate into Shqip for in country tourist. Since this area of the country is now easily accessible due to the highway, tourist from Tirane can get to Kukes Region in a little over 2 hours. The lack of information for travelers on the internet is an issue and is the main problem that this website wants to attack.
Most body text is provided by the UNDP Kukes Region Tourism Plan and the research they conducted in the past 4 years on the region. My own personal photography will be on the website and hotel, minibus, travel times were all collected by Garrett and myself in all the towns.
The only place we have not visited on the website is Shistavec and we are planning on getting there in the beginning of September. Design/information layout is still under going.
